Blueberry Easter Cake

I'm not sure why I'm calling this an Easter cake but we had it Easter morning and it was extremely heavenly.  

There are two ways I use blueberries in dessert type foods.  One is here and the other will now be this one.

Resurrection Rolls

A few years ago we started making our traditional Resurrection Rolls.

It's so easy and gives the kids a great visual of how Christ arose from the grave on Easter morning.

Crescent rolls

The kids just love them and seriously, they are so darn easy!

Kit Kat Easter Cake

Today I am working on this masterpiece I found on Pinterest!

I'm a bit nervous to put coconut all over the top because my kids aren't fans.  I am assuming they can scrap it off the top.  Another picture I saw just showed a topping of m&m's.  So we'll see what I decide to do.

Resurrection Rolls

Another idea I'd heard about from other moms and had seen several recipes for was for Resurrection Rolls.

The day before Easter I saw it all over my Pinterest board and then decided it was something I wanted to do with the kids before church on Easter morning.

You take crescent rolls (the tomb) and put in a marshmallow (Jesus).

Dip the marshmallow in oil (butter) and spices (cinnamon and sugar) for the burial anointing.

Sometimes, we're just naked in our house.

Little Miss ate Jesus before I could wrap him in the tomb.

We had to try again.

Then wrap the tomb around Jesus and bake for 15 minutes or so.

My advice would be to either seal the edges of the tomb very very well next time or just use a couple of mini marshmallows instead.

Our marshmallows ended up all over and leaking out of the crescent rolls.

But we ate them anyway!

Easter Pizza

I love Pinterest.

I really do.

For each holiday, I have a list of goodies/crafts to do with the kids but Pinterest has taken it to a whole new level.

I've stressed myself out about making sure I do each and every single stinkin' craft/goodie there is to do.

It's like...my competitive sport.

The boys are into them, My Man coaches them and so now I've developed my own.

My goal:  Pin awesomely fun stuff.

My goal:  Do/make the awesomely fun stuff.

I had to draw the lines though on difficulty level.

The things I've been making with the kids this year are on the "easy" level.

For instance, below is the Easter Pizza!

Refrigerator sugar cookie dough, pressed into a foil pizza pan.

Baked.

Immediately after taking it out of the oven, sprinkle Easter marshmallows and Easter m&ms's all over.

Stick back into the oven while it's still warm to puff up the marshmallows a bit and make them stick.

My kids gobbled it right up!
